LA women's dress style

Based on an extremely small but geographically varied sampling, the elements of the LA women's dress style are: spike heels (rather than our Northern California flats), very skinny jeans or short shorts, lots of makeup, evidence of facial plastic surgery, bizarre hair. In two words: Hollywood slutty!

Deborah Butterfield show at LA Louver Gallery

We went to LA yesterday to see a small but very nice Deborah Butterfield show. My favorite work was Cyan, a smaller than life-size work. What made it even better was that it was displayed in the Gallery's open-to-the-sky exhibit space, and the light streaming down on the sculpture was beautiful. Looking up into the bright blue Venice sky was gorgeous as well.

He's not holding the book in the official approved Librarian stance, but I'll cut him some slack for doing such a great job of READING TO KIDS.
